Real Talk: What it Means to be Salty Season
Real Talk. If you’ve been following along for a while, you know that Salty Season isn't just a catchy name—it’s literally me. My name is Season, and yeah, I’ve got a bit of salt to go with it.
People always ask, "Why Salty?" Usually, they say it like it’s a bad thing. They think being salty means you’re bitter or angry. But for me, it’s about being real. It’s about a perspective that isn’t sugar-coated or watered down. It’s the grit that comes from surviving the storms and coming out stronger on the other side.
My Name, My Brand, My Reclamation
Growing up with a name like Season, you get used to people projecting things onto you. They expect you to be "summery" and bright or "wintry" and cold. But I realized that I didn't want to just be a time of year. I wanted to be the flavor that changes the room.
In 2025, I founded Salty Season as a reclamation of my own future. As a justice-impacted entrepreneur and a recovering alcoholic, I know what it’s like to walk through a "salty" season of life—those difficult chapters that test everything you have. But I also know that salt is a preservative and an enhancer. It keeps things from going bad, and it brings out the best in everything it touches. Our past doesn't define us; it prepares us.
Refined Boho with a Radical Mission
Salty Season is where refined bohemian style meets radical authenticity. We design for the woman who has lived, who has stories to tell, and who finds beauty in the evolution of her own journey.
But we aren't just here to look good; we’re here to do good.
- Naturally Refined: We are committed to the planet, sourcing at least 51% sustainable, eco-friendly products. We curate for the future because we believe in protecting the beauty that surrounds us.
- Consciously Designed: Our aesthetic blends free-spirited styles with a sophisticated edge. It’s fashion for the woman who is as grounded as she is elegant.
- Rooted in Resilience: Because I believe in the power of second chances, 1% of all sales are donated directly to the Washington City Mission in Pennsylvania. Every purchase you make helps provide a foundation for another woman to rebuild her life.
This is Just the Beginning
This blog is a space for us to get into the grit of things. We’re going to talk about the "messy beautiful" reality of the human experience, the fashion that makes us feel powerful, and the community we are building together.
I’m glad you’re here for the ride. It might not always be sweet, but I promise it’ll always be authentic.
